Cheese Shop

 The most horrible thing happened to us today. Before I went to work yesterday, I managed to give my little darling, Lexie, her usual daily morning meal on her platter near the door. She would normally wag her tails while waiting as I prepare her favorite food. But as I prepared my favorite ham and Gruyere Cheese sandwich, I realized that I haven’t heard Lexie’s trademark early morning bark. Surprisingly, she isn’t the same today. No happy-looking, tails-wagging, and expectant-looking little wonder came to meet me yesterday.

Mother says she noticed that Lexie has not been the usual for three days now, but she never thought that it will be something fatal. When we woke up today, we found her lying stiff on her bed just meters away from the stairs. I have never cried so hard in my life. Neither did anyone else in the family. But we all have to be strong. We found out that she suffered from a gastrointestinal disease. I know things will never be the same again after Lexie’s gone. The house will be a lot quieter from now on. Im not even sure if I am ready to have a new dog to replace Lexie.
